PREPARATION OF AN EROBOTA GRANT APPLICATION

PREPARATION OF AN EROBOTA GRANT APPLICATION

The Own Business programme provides entrepreneurs with grant financing to start or develop a business. As at 28 August 2026, the previous application stage has ended and new rules take effect from 1 September.

How to Start Business in UkraineOverview for companies

It is advantageous for an entrepreneur to use this time to complete the business plan, budget, sales calculations and job plan so that, when the new stage opens, the application can be submitted with figures that correspond to the actual business model.

Grant Amount and New Rules from 1 September 2026

From 1 September 2026, the amount of support will depend on the business purpose, number of jobs, region and additional criteria. A basic range of UAH 100,000-300,000 has been announced for starting a business and UAH 500,000-1.5 million for scaling. With applicable increases, the amount may reach UAH 500,000 for a start-up and UAH 2.5 million for scaling.

Additional increases are linked to the entrepreneur's age, veteran status, internally displaced person status, VAT status, relocation, job creation, operation in designated frontline regions, restoration of damaged fixed assets and priority sectors of the economy. The specific amount is determined by the applicant's parameters and the business project.

An application can be submitted through the Diia portal. Participants may be individuals aged 18 or over, sole proprietors and private-law legal entities. For the owner, the practical result is choosing an amount that the business can use for equipment, transport, rent, repairs, automation, digitalisation, marketing, branding or other expenses allowed under the current programme conditions.

For the application, it is useful to determine the format of the future business from the outset: sole proprietor or legal entity, place of business, KVED activity codes, bank account, main suppliers and launch calendar. These data link the grant application to the actual registration and first contracts after financing is received.

Business Plan, Budget and Jobs

The business plan explains exactly what the entrepreneur sells, to whom, at what price and how profit is generated. Revenue should be calculated through the number of customers, average transaction value, utilisation, seasonality and actual production capacity. Expenses include purchases, rent, payroll, taxes, advertising, delivery and the funds required before the first revenue is received.

For equipment and other major expenses, it is useful for the owner to have up-to-date supplier quotations. For rent, the rate and term are needed. For recruitment, the number of people and payroll fund are required. The grant budget is made up of specific purchases, while the owner's contribution is planned separately when the total launch cost exceeds the amount of state support.

A job means ongoing salary and tax costs. The number of employees is matched to revenue after launch. For an operating business, scaling should create additional sales, production capacity or a new outlet. The owner calculates how many new orders the equipment or team will generate and how long it will take for the invested funds to return through profit.

The entrepreneur also keeps a reserve of own funds for the first months of operation, while sales are still building towards the planned level. This reserve covers rent, salaries, purchases and taxes before stable revenue is achieved and allows the business plan to be implemented at the agreed pace.

Application, Financing and Operations after Approval

Before the new stage opens, the entrepreneur can complete the application, financial calculations, list of expenses and a concise explanation of the business model. At the interview, the owner should be able to state in simple terms who the customer is, the price, sales volume, expenses, required equipment and jobs. The same figures are then used in the day-to-day management of the business.

After a positive decision, the funds are used for the approved purposes and in accordance with the programme terms. Purchases, recruitment and actual activity must correspond to the business plan and the grant decision. The entrepreneur retains contracts, invoices, payment documents and employment records in the accounting system.

UBC can prepare the business plan, budget, sales, payroll and tax calculations for the new Own Business model. The client receives a document that is convenient for explaining the business at the interview and for managing funds after financing. The main task at the end of August 2026 is to complete the figures before the new stage starts on 1 September.

After receiving the money, it is advantageous for the owner to compare actual sales and expenses with the business plan every month. Slower sales, a different purchase price or higher rent are immediately reflected in the cash plan, allowing the director to defer a purchase, change advertising or adjust the pace of hiring.
